With a new infotainment system including smartphone integration, increased comfort and simplified operation, the proven drive concept has been taken to the next level. With the three equipment lines BASIS, PLUS and TOP and two additional special models BASIS Diamond and PLUS Diamond, Mitsubishi offers an appealing selection. With the revision of the models for 2020, the interior in particular has been noticeably upgraded once again. More comfortable seats and the new infotainment system with an 8-inch display as well as an improved, intuitive centre console significantly raise the equipment level. Digital radio DAB+, Bluetooth audio streaming and a USB port are included for entertainment. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow the smartphone to be linked to the vehicle, making apps and personal messages available. The integrated voice control not only makes operation easier, but also increases safety while driving. The electrically adjustable lumbar support included as standard relieves strain on the back on longer journeys. The electrically opening tailgate reveals a standard luggage capacity of up to 463 litres, which can be increased to up to 1602 litres by folding down the rear seats.

The powerful Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid combines a modern 2.4-litre DOHC petrol engine with 99 kW (135 hp) with a 60 kW (82 hp) electric motor at the front and a 70 kW (95 hp) electric rear motor. The result is a combined NEDC consumption of just 1.8 litres of fuel plus 14.8 kWh of electricity per 100 kilometres with CO2 emissions of 40g/km. The drive system, which has been included since 2020, complies with the Euro 6d TEMP-EVAP-ISC emissions standard.

Lower noise levels can be achieved through a low engine speed level. When more power is required, such as when overtaking, the petrol engine is temporarily switched on, while it takes over the drive completely when the power requirement is permanently increased, such as when driving on the motorway. The fully electronic top speed of the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid is 135 km/h. A total of four driving modes “Normal/Eco”, “Lock”, “Sport” and “Snow” allow flexible and dynamic adaptation of the driving style to the environment.
