Hyundai IONIQ 5 - Progressive, efficient, electric

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 represents a new generation of electric vehicles that harmoniously combines technology and design. Clear lines, striking edges and a long wheelbase give the vehicle an unmistakable character. At the same time, the design picks up on details of classic Hyundai models and translates them into a modern design language. The light signature with the characteristic full LED headlights in pixel design is particularly striking. The IONIQ 5 can be optionally equipped with a solar roof, which feeds additional energy into the battery when the sun is shining brightly. The vehicle measures 4,655 millimetres in length, 1,890 millimetres in width and 1,645 millimetres in height - with an exceptionally long wheelbase of three metres. These proportions ensure generous space in the interior.

Sustainable interior with premium comfort

The interior is consistently designed for sustainability and well-being. Materials such as ecologically tanned leather, textiles made from recycled yarn and sugar cane-based plastics demonstrate the environmentally conscious approach of the concept. The flat vehicle floor creates a particularly open feeling of space. The front seats are electrically adjustable and can be brought into a relaxed reclining position. A sliding centre console creates additional flexibility in everyday life. Two 12.25-inch displays form the digital cockpit, which presents information and infotainment in a clearly structured manner. Smartphones can be connected wirelessly via Apple CarPlay™2

and Android Auto™2

.

Space concept and boot volume at a glance

The well thought-out space layout makes the IONIQ 5 a versatile everyday companion. The boot offers a volume of 520 to 1,580 litres, with an additional 57-litre frunk at the front (24 litres in the all-wheel drive model). This makes it easier to stow charging cables and smaller items. With a ground clearance of 160 millimetres, a turning circle of 11.98 metres and a roof load of 80 kilograms, the vehicle is also suitable for longer journeys and towing a trailer. The towing capacity is 1,600 kilograms (braked) or 750 kilograms (unbraked).

8 years of security

Hyundai IONIQ 5 Warranty

Like all Hyundai electric models, the IONIQ 5 also offers an 8-year warranty with no mileage limit - both for the vehicle and for the high-voltage battery.

Technical details of the Hyundai IONIQ 5

Electric drive with up to 325 hp6

output

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available in three electric variants: with a 63 kWh battery and rear-wheel drive, with a larger 84 kWh battery also as 2WD and as 4WD with all-wheel drive. The engine output ranges from 170 hp4

to 325 hp6

. In the most powerful version with all-wheel drive, the IONIQ 5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, while the rear-wheel drive variants require 7.5 and 8.5 seconds respectively. The maximum torque is up to 605 Nm for the all-wheel drive version, while the top speed for all models is 185 km/h. The basis is the modular Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which ensures high structural rigidity, short loading times and efficient utilisation of space.

Fast charging with the latest battery technology

All variants use modern lithium-ion polymer batteries with a voltage of 523 volts (63 kWh) or 697 volts (84 kWh). The on-board charger charges single-phase or three-phase with up to 10.5 kW alternating current. At fast-charging stations with 350 kW direct current, the charging process from 10 to 80 per cent only takes around 18 minutes8

. The IONIQ 5 also impresses with its short charging times when charging at home: The battery is fully charged in around six to seven hours at a wallbox with 11 kW. The standard CCS charging system also enables charging at public fast-charging stations. The vehicle-to-load function (V2L) is a special feature. It allows external devices to be operated directly with energy from the vehicle battery - for example tools or electric bicycles.

Comfortable handling and high efficiency

Thanks to the long wheelbase and low vehicle height, the IONIQ 5 is very stable on the road. The combination of MacPherson struts at the front and multi-link suspension at the rear ensures balanced ride comfort, even at higher speeds. The battery pack in the vehicle floor contributes to a low centre of gravity and thus improves handling. With a noise level of only around 67 dB(A), the IONIQ 5 offers a quiet driving environment in keeping with the character of a premium electric car.

Range and consumption of the IONIQ 5 models

Depending on the battery size and tyres, the energy consumption according to WLTP is between 15.6 kWh/100 km (63 kWh, 19″) and 18.2 kWh/100 km (84 kWh 4WD, 20″). The range is:

63 kWh 2WD: up to 440 km7

84 kWh 2WD: up to 570 km (530 km with 20″ rims)7

84 kWh 4WD: up to 546 km (500 km with 20″ rims)7

This makes the IONIQ 5 suitable for both daily commutes and longer journeys.

Price models

In addition to the base model, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available in the CENTRIQ, UNIQ, N Line and N Line X equipment lines. In addition to the equipment lines, the following drive variants can be selected:

  • 63 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive (2WD)4

  • 84 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive (2WD)5

  • 84 kWh battery with all-wheel drive (4WD)6

Even the basic version has extensive standard equipment with LED headlights, automatic air conditioning, heated seats and numerous assistance systems. The entry-level price is €44

,9003, with additional customisation options such as a panoramic

glass roof1, ventilated seats1

and a premium sound

system1.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available in various trim levels - basic IONIQ 5, CENTRIQ, UNIQ, N Line and N Line X - with a choice of 63-kWh

rear-wheel drive4 or 84-kWh battery as a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive version5,6.

At fast-charging stations with up to 350 kW, the battery charges from 10 to 80 per cent in around 18 minutes8

. A full charge takes around six to seven hours via a wallbox with 11 kW.

Depending on the model, drive and wheel size, the range is between 440 and 570 kilometres according to WLTP7

. Thanks to recuperation - energy recovery during braking - it can be even higher in city traffic.

Hyundai grants an 8-year warranty with no mileage limit on the vehicle and the high-voltage battery. The manufacturer thus offers long-term safety and high reliability for all drivers.

The towing capacity for models with an 84 kWh battery is up to 1,600 kilograms (braked) and 750 kilograms for the 63 kWh variant. The maximum drawbar load is 100 kg, the roof load 80 kg - sufficient for bicycle racks or roof boxes.

The maximum torque (Nm) is 350 Nm with rear-wheel drive and up to 605 Nm with all-wheel drive. This allows the IONIQ 5 to accelerate smoothly and powerfully, without interrupting gear changes.
