The Hyundai IONIQ 5 represents a new generation of electric vehicles that harmoniously combines technology and design. Clean lines, striking edges and a long wheelbase give the vehicle an unmistakable character. At the same time, the design draws on details from classic Hyundai models and translates them into a modern design language. Particularly striking is the lighting signature, featuring the characteristic full-LED headlights in a pixel design. The IONIQ 5 can be optionally fitted with a solar roof, which feeds additional energy into the battery when sunlight conditions are optimal. The vehicle measures 4,655 millimetres in length, 1,890 millimetres in width and 1,645 millimetres in height – with an exceptionally long wheelbase of three metres. These proportions ensure a spacious interior.
The interior is consistently designed with sustainability and well-being in mind. Materials such as eco-tanned leather, textiles made from recycled yarn and sugarcane-based plastics demonstrate the concept’s environmentally conscious approach. The flat floor creates a particularly open and spacious feel. The front seats are electrically adjustable and can be reclined into a relaxed position. A sliding centre console provides additional flexibility for everyday use. Two 12.25-inch displays form the digital cockpit, which presents information and infotainment in a clearly structured manner. Smartphones can be connected wirelessly via AppleCarPlay™2
and AndroidAuto™2
.
The well-thought-out interior layout makes the IONIQ 5 a versatile everyday companion. The boot offers a capacity of 520 to 1,580 litres, and there is also a 57-litre front boot (24 litres on the all-wheel-drive model). This makes it easy to stow charging cables and smaller items. With a ground clearance of 160 millimetres, a turning circle of 11.98 metres and a roof load capacity of 80 kilograms, the vehicle is also suitable for longer journeys and towing. The towing capacity is 1,600 kilograms (braked) or 750 kilograms (unbraked).
8 years of security
Like all Hyundai electric models, the IONIQ 5 also comes with an 8-year warranty with no mileage limit – covering both the vehicle and the high-voltage battery.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available in three electric variants: with a 63-kWh battery and rear-wheel drive, with a larger 84-kWh battery also as a 2WD, and as a 4WD with all-wheel drive. Motor power ranges from 170PS4
to 325PS6
. In the most powerful all-wheel-drive version, the IONIQ 5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, whilst the rear-wheel-drive variants take 7.5 and 8.5 seconds respectively. Maximum torque is up to 605 Nm in the all-wheel-drive version, whilst the top speed for all models is 185 km/h. The car is based on the modular Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which ensures high structural rigidity, short charging times and efficient use of space.
All variants use modern lithium-ion polymer batteries with a voltage of 523 volts (63 kWh) or 697 volts (84 kWh). The on-board charger charges using single- or three-phase alternating current at up to 10.5 kW. At 350 kW DC fast-charging points, the charging process from 10 to 80 per cent takes only around 18minutes⁸
. The IONIQ 5 also impresses with its short charging times when charging at home: using an 11 kW wallbox, the battery is fully charged in around six to seven hours. The standard CCS charging system also enables charging at public fast-charging stations. A special feature is the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function. This allows external devices – such as tools or electric bikes – to be powered directly from the vehicle’s battery.
Thanks to its long wheelbase and low ride height, the IONIQ 5 feels very stable on the road. The combination of MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear ensures balanced ride comfort, even at higher speeds. The battery pack in the vehicle floor helps to lower the centre of gravity, thereby improving handling. With a noise level of just around 67 dB(A), the IONIQ 5 offers a quiet driving environment befitting a premium electric car.
According to the WLTP, energy consumption ranges from 15.6 kWh/100 km (63 kWh, 19″) to 18.2 kWh/100 km (84 kWh 4WD, 20″), depending on battery size and tyre size. The range is as follows:
63 kWh 2WD: up to 440km7
84 kWh 2WD: up to 570 km (530 km with 20″ wheels)7
84 kWh 4WD: up to 546 km (500 km with 20″ wheels)7
This makes the IONIQ 5 well suited to both daily commutes and longer journeys.
As well as the base model, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available in the CENTRIQ, UNIQ, N Line and N Line X trim levels. In addition to these trim levels, you can choose from the following powertrain options:
63 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive (2WD)4
84 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive (2WD)5
84 kWh battery with all-wheel drive (4WD)6
Even the base version comes with a comprehensive range of standard features, including LED headlights, automatic climate control, heated seats and numerous driver assistance systems. The starting price is€
44,900³.
Options such as apanoramic glass roof¹

At fast-charging stations with up to 350 kW, the battery charges from 10 to 80 per cent in around 18 minutes8
. A full charge takes around six to seven hours via a wallbox with 11 kW.
Depending on the model, drive and wheel size, the range is between 440 and 570 kilometres according to WLTP7
. Thanks to recuperation - energy recovery during braking - it can be even higher in city traffic.
Hyundai grants an 8-year warranty with no mileage limit on the vehicle and the high-voltage battery. The manufacturer thus offers long-term safety and high reliability for all drivers.
The towing capacity for models with an 84 kWh battery is up to 1,600 kilograms (braked) and 750 kilograms for the 63 kWh variant. The maximum drawbar load is 100 kg, the roof load 80 kg - sufficient for bicycle racks or roof boxes.
The maximum torque (Nm) is 350 Nm with rear-wheel drive and up to 605 Nm with all-wheel drive. This allows the IONIQ 5 to accelerate smoothly and powerfully, without interrupting gear changes.
