Selling a car in Berlin – Here’s how it works
2. Free DEKRA report
1. Quick appointment booking: We’ll arrange an appointment at your preferred location within 1–2 days.
- Impartial valuation:** A DEKRA valuer will assess your vehicle professionally **and independently based on the current DAT market value. *3. Guaranteed fair price bonus:* You will receive the assessed DAT value (minus any damage) plus a top-up of up to €2,000. 4. Applies to every vehicle: Whether it’s a well-maintained car with a valid MOT, a car without an MOT sticker or a vehicle that has been in an accident.
3. Sales contract & immediate payment
1. Same-day contract: You will receive your contract of sale immediately following the valuation. 2. Flexible payment: You can choose between a swift bank transfer or a direct cash payment on the spot. 3. Free deregistration: If you wish, we can take care of the official deregistration of your vehicle for you immediately and in full.
What you’ll need for your car-selling appointment
To ensure that we can complete the vehicle purchase smoothly, please bring the following documents and items with you:
- Registration Certificate Part I (formerly the vehicle registration document)
- Vehicle Registration Certificate Part II (formerly the vehicle title)
- Service or maintenance log
- Any invoices for servicing and repairs
- Certificates of installations and modifications
- All available vehicle keys
- Owner’s manual, if available
If you are missing any documents or a car key, please let us know before your appointment. We will then check whether the sale can still go ahead. If the vehicle is still under finance, we will discuss with you what details we need to settle the loan.
How we calculate the value of your vehicle
Our pricing process is 100 per cent transparent and traceable. The valuation is carried out in three clear steps:
- Model and vehicle history: We take into account the make, model, year of manufacture, date of first registration, mileage, specifications and maintenance history. - Condition check: The DEKRA assessor inspects the bodywork, interior, tyres, any known previous damage and any repairs due (in the case of accident or engine damage, this enables us to determine the fair residual value). - Market analysis: Our purchase offer is based on the official market analysis by Deutsche Automobil Treuhand (DAT).
Your price bonus: Following the valuation, we’ll explain exactly how the offer is calculated. Depending on the vehicle, we’ll add **up to 2,000 euros on top of the calculated DAT value**!

As well as the usual factors such as first registration, mileage and specifications, we pay particular attention to: - Battery & warranty: Remaining manufacturer’s warranty on the high-voltage battery. - History & accessories: Complete service records, as well as any charging cables and accessories. - Test reports: Any existing certificates regarding the battery’s state of health. Tip for your appointment: Please bring any battery certificates, test reports and all charging accessories with you. Frequently asked questions about buying a car
We buy second-hand cars of all makes. This includes cars that have been in accidents, cars with engine faults, vehicles without a valid MOT and cars with high mileage.
You can also offer us a car that is faulty or no longer roadworthy. We will discuss with you on a case-by-case basis whether collection is possible.
In principle, you can sell a vehicle that is still being financed. In the case of a leased vehicle, we will check whether early repayment and purchase are possible. To do this, we will need the lessor’s contract details.
Please bring the vehicle in for valuation in its current condition. There is no need for prior repairs or professional cleaning. Please let us know of any known faults when you make your enquiry, or at the latest when you attend your appointment.
In that case, no sale will take place. The DEKRA valuation is free of charge for you and our offer remains non-binding.
